PetiteKnit – Lucy Wrap Knitting Kit

The Lucy Wrap is worked from the top down in stocking stitch. The back is worked first and shaped with short rows. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders, and the yoke is worked back and forth with increases for the sleeves and the sloping front edges.

We have put this kit together in Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair, held double throughout. Two strands of lace mohair give the wrap its weightless, open fabric and its halo. There is no other yarn in it.

Soft Silk Mohair grows with washing and wear, so wash your swatch before you measure the gauge.

A note on the needles

The wrap is worked back and forth on circulars rather than in the round, so the long cables are there to hold the stitches rather than to join them.

The Lucy Wrap is designed with approximately 7cm [2¾ins] of negative ease, so it is meant to sit close. The table gives half bust measurements, as the wrap crosses at the front.
