Origin 001 is the only machine-washable base in the collection, and the obvious starting point if you dye your own sock yarn. It is spun from 100% British Bluefaced Leicester with a firm twist built for wear, so heels and toes hold up to being walked on. Bluefaced Leicester takes dye exceptionally well - the long, lustrous staple gives a depth and glow to colour that you simply do not get from a standard superwash merino base.
Perfect for socks, shawls and anything that will be washed often. Undyed it is a soft creamy white, ready for dyeing, or lovely used as it comes for a natural-coloured pair. At 350m to 100g, one hank covers a standard adult pair with a little left over.
