Origin 002 is spun from British Bluefaced Leicester alongside natural brown Masham, twisted together so the two fibres stay visibly distinct. The effect is a soft marl - pale and dark strands winding round each other rather than blending into a flat mid-tone. It is quietly beautiful undyed, and it becomes something else again when dyed, because the white Bluefaced Leicester takes colour fully while the brown Masham holds it back, giving a depth of tone from a single dye bath.
Perfect for jumpers, cardigans, hats and blankets at a standard DK gauge. If you have never dyed a marled base before, this is a forgiving one to start with: uneven dye uptake reads as intentional texture rather than a mistake.
