Origin 003 is the Aran weight version of the marled Bluefaced Leicester and Masham base, spun so the white and natural brown fibres stay visible against each other. At this weight the marl is bolder - you can read the individual strands in the fabric, which gives cables and texture an extra dimension. Dyed, the two fibres take colour to different depths and produce a tonal, lived-in result from a single dye bath.
Perfect for cabled jumpers, structured cardigans, hats and blankets. The Masham content gives it the backbone to hold stitch pattern, so texture stays sharp rather than softening out after wear.
