Origin 010 is a half-and-half blend of Corriedale wool and mohair, spun very fine. Mohair at this proportion is transformative: it brings a glassy sheen, a soft halo and remarkable strength, while the Corriedale keeps the yarn stable and stops it sliding. It is the most luxurious base in the collection and priced accordingly. Dyers particularly value mohair blends because the fibre takes colour with extraordinary brilliance - the sheen makes shades look lit from within.
Perfect for lace, fine shawls and delicate accessories, or held alongside another yarn to add halo and shine to a plainer base. At 400m to 100g one hank goes a very long way.
